Description
AFSC AAR-44 RFI AFSC/PZABB is seeking external sources for repair of the AN/AAR-44 circuit card repair. The scope of this effort includes repair actions for multiple customers including: DoD components and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers. The AN/AAR-44 is currently installed on multiple platforms. This request does not constitute a Request for Quotation (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor does this issuance restrict the Government's acquisition approach. There is no solicitation available at this time. Contractor proposals will receive no response. The Government will neither award a contract solely on the basis of this synopsis nor will it reimburse the contractor for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this notice. The Air Force has not yet determined the acquisition strategy for this requirement, including determining if a set-aside strategy is appropriate. T he purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research to determine if responsible sources exist and to assist the United States Air Force (USAF) in determining if a future contract effort can be competitively awarded and/or awarded on a total or partial Small Business Set-Aside basis. The applicable North American Industrial Classification System ( NAICS) code assigned to this effort is 811219 (Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance) with the Small Business Size Standard of $20.5 Million average annual receipts. If the Government decides to award a contract for this or related effort, a solicitation will be published and posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website. The Government will use this information solely to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for this procurement. The Government is interested in all small business concerns. L-3 Cincinnati Electronics Corporation (CE) is currently the prime contractor for the repair of the AN/AAR-44 system. L-3 CE owns the technical data required to remanufacture, produce spares, and repair the system. Parties expressing interest in this requirement must have the capability to access pertinent technical data needed for repairs, technical support, and contract program management. Interested parties must also be able to provide repair and parts service for the designated AN/AAR-44 circuit cards and return to Government (or designated inventory) in serviceable condition that meets or exceeds the manufacturer specification. RESPONSES TO THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION MUST BE SUMBITTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT TITLED "AFSC AAR-44 RFI".
