- Description
- GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: The National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office requires a contractor to operate a government furnished Sutter 500 trail dozer for the construction of approximately 5,900 linear feet of full-bench cuts, at 5 separate locations along the Copper Lake Trail. The work will also include training approximately 2 permanent government employees on safe and effective operation of the Sutter 500 with the goal of the trainees being capable of safely and effectively operating the equipment in conditions that are typical in nature and non-complex (i.e. low slopes). A government-owned mini-excavator will also be available for the contractor use as conditions warrant. Work will begin after July 15, 2016, and will require at least 2 separate mobilizations to the site. All work must be completed by October 15, 2016. Given potential variations in seasonal weather patterns, it is possible that work may be stopped for periods of time to allow the soils to dry. Contract work will be coordinated with government trail crews working on the same trail.
