Description
The U. S. Army Contracting Command, Tenant Division, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with Faro Technologies, Inc, 250 Technology Park, Lake Mary, FL 32746. The purpose of this contract is to acquire maintenance and repair services for the FARO measuring equipment used by the Measurements and Materials Lab at Aberdeen Test Center (ATC). The equipment consists of 15 Faro Arms, 12 Faro lasers, and 1 Laser Tracker. FARO owns design data and possesses test procedures, specialized maintenance/calibration apparatus, proprietary schematics, and drawings, all of which are essential to accomplish the requested maintenance, repair, and calibration requirements in a timely and cost efficient manner. FARO has available skilled, experienced technical personnel who have been trained to provide the technical knowledge necessary to evaluate, diagnose, and provide corrective actions for the instruments to operate at its desired level of performance. Award to another contractor would result in substantial duplication of cost to the Government that is not expected to be recovered through competition, and unacceptable delays in fulfilling the agency's requirements. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 811219 and the size standard is $20.5 million. Interested persons may identify their interest, in writing, to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 2:45 PM, Eastern Standard Time, 29 January 2016. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers. The point of contact for this action is Christopher Neville, Contract Specialist, christopher.m.neville2.civ@mail.mil.
