Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number is VA262-16-Q-0345 is issued as a request for quote. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 339112, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. This requirement is put forth as unrestricted. The VA Long Beach Healthcare Center seeks to issue a purchase order for various Cardiac Catheters and products. Catheters are steerable thin flexible tubes containing multiple electrodes. These catheters can provide information about the location of the electrical impulse conduction path (called electrophysiological mapping) responsible for heart muscle contraction. The catheters also can transmit RF (radiofrequency) current through an electrode at the catheter tip for the purpose of ablation (destruction) of a small segment of heart muscle responsible for abnormal impulse conduction. When used with the CARTO ® system and REF-STAR ® reference device, a real-time 3-dimentional image of the heart chamber can be made. For ablation, the catheter can be used with a compatible commercially available RF generator and dispersive pad which carries energy from the patient's body back to the RF generator. These items will be used in invasive cardiac electrophysiology laboratories and other procedural suites in the Veterans Health Administration for invasive electrophysiology and arrhythmia ablation procedures.
