- Invitation for Bid DACA65-B-16-06 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is offering for sale one(1) item of timber on approximately 27 acres located at the U.S. Military Academy West Point Orange County, NY of which approximately the following volumes of standing timber to be harvested within the delineated timber sale area: NORTHERN RED OAK: 111,824 BF (1/4 inch) International CHESTNUT OAK: 10,873 BF (1/4 inch) International RED MAPLE(Soft): 210 BF (1/4 inch) International BLACK OAK: 1740 BF (1/4 inch) International TULIP POPLAR: BF (1/4 inch) International This contract shall start from official collection of the Performance Deposit and subsequent official Notice to Proceed through March 31, 2017. Timber harvesting activities may start upon Notice to Proceed until March 31, 2016 and again November 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017. No equipment operations may take place on the interior of the sale from May 1, 2016 to September 15, 2016; all equipment shall be removed from USMA property, landings and skid roads shall be free of woody debris with the exception of logs at the landing. The government will in no way guarantee timber left at the landing during this period (May 1, 2016 to September 15, 2016), all risk on integrity, safety, and volume are on the purchaser. The purchaser may be permitted to only remove logs left at the landing from April 1, 2016 to May 1, 2016 and again September 15, 2016 to November 1, 2016. The timber to be sold may be inspected by prospective purchasers by appointment only. Sealed bids will be accepted until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday February 9, 2016, by the Acquisition, Management, and Disposal Section, Real Estate Office, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, 803 Front Street, Norfolk, Virginia 23510-1011, then and there publicly opened.
