- Description
- Sources Sought Notice-Well Leak Repair This is a Sources Sought Notice for the purpose of conducting market research, and obtaining industry information ONLY. Proposals are NOT being requested, nor accepted at this time. The purpose of this synopsis is to obtain information from businesses that would be interested and capable of providing the types of services noted below. The National Park Service (NPS) will use information obtained through this synopsis as well as other market research to develop an acquisition strategy. Work involves the repair of a single-zone Floridan Aquifer System (FAS) monitoring well (ENP-100) located in Everglades National Park (EVER), Florida The USGS installed a well in 1964/65 to provide emergency water supply to Taylor Slough. This well was drilled into the Floridan Aquifer, which has high chlorides and is under high pressure. The well is now leaking and the possibility exists for the well to fail and discharge 3 million gallons of saltwater per day into the freshwater slough. This project will require removal of the concrete well pad, replacement of the 8-inch steel casing with stainless steel beginning at one foot below grade or until competent material is encountered, replacement of the 8-inch and 4-inch gate valves with same design stainless steel versions, replacing through bolts and nuts with new stainless steel bolts, priming and painting of all metal, and construction of a new reinforced concrete well pad. The new well pad must be surveyed to NGVD 29 and NAVD 88 and a brass benchmark secured. Contractor must be licensed in the state of Florida. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), code will be 237110. The small business size standard will be $36.5 million average annual revenue for the previous three years.
