- The U.S. Geological Leetown Science Center (LSC) has a need to renovation and retrofit an existing wet laboratory to develop and install standard operating procedure items for a Biosafety Level-3 Laboratory (BSL-3). The lab is located in Kearneysville, West Virginia. A partial list of requirements includes: 1.Develop and install a Yellow, Green and Red zone entrance into the BSL-3 area; 2.Develop and install a HEPA filter system to existing exhaust system; There are no option periods. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. Request for Proposal (RFP) G15PS00288 was on September 25, 2015 with written proposals due on or about January 25, 2016. After closing, the RFP was extended again on February 3, 2016 with a new closing date of February 17, 2016. All vendors submitting proposals will be required to provide bid bonds. The awarded vendor will be required to provide performance and payment bonds. A site visit will be held, the information for which can be found in Section L of the RFP. CONTRACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE SITE VISIT. The NAICS code is 236220. The size standard is $36.5 million. This acquisition will be a total small business set-aside pursuant to FAR Part 19. The anticipated award date of the contract is January 29,. A vendor must be registered at http://www.sam.gov to be awarded the contract. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
