Description

PRE-SOLICITATION NOTICE 578-12-056 Correct HVAC Central Supply and Storage Rooms, Bldg. 200 at the Edward Hines Jr. VA Hospital, Hines Illinois. The contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, supervision, management, transportation, supplies and materials to perform construction services related to the removal of the existing devices/appliances, operational or obsolete; new VAV boxes, dual duct boxes, new ductwork, reheat coils, diffusers, grilles, temperature controls will be added per plans. In some rooms air volumes can be increased by adding a new volume damper or adjusting air volume from existing air volume dampers. After new work is done, contractor is required to provide air and water testing and balancing of supply air diffusers, return air grilles and hot water reheat coils. This work also involves replacing pneumatic controls with digital controls, tying points from temperature controls to the Building 200 Automation System, and other items related to Correct HVAC Central Supply and Storage Rooms, Bldg. 200 at the Hines VA Hospital. The Contractor shall inspect and provide an Existing Site Conditions report with related photos to the Contracting Officer for review and approval. All work as per design documents. Award is subject to the availability of funds. This construction project is set-aside for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB's). All prospective contractors must be verified on the Center for Veterans Enterprises (CVE) website, www.vetbiz.gov, to be considered for award. The solicitation, specifications and drawings will be posted on www.fbo.gov. There will be pre-Bid conference and walk-through held for this project. All prospective bidders are encouraged to attend. Details of the pre-bid conference will be included in the solicitation package. The solicitation will be issued on/about 18 February 2016 with the bid opening on/about 22 March 2016. The bidder is responsible to monitor and download any amendments from www.fbo.gov which may be issued to this solicitation. In accordance with Public Law 109-461, of the Veterans Benefits, Healthcare and Information Technology Act of 2006. Pursuant to 38 USC 8127(d), competition is restricted to SDVOSB construction firms. The project magnitude range is between $250,000 and $500,000. The North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) for this procurement is 238220; size standard $15.0 million applies.
