- N00164-16-S-NB44 - REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI)/SOURCES SOUGHT - MODULAR OPEN SYSTEMS ARCHITECTURE FOR ELECTRO-OPTIC INTEGRATION ABOARD SHIPS AND OTHER MILITARY PLATFORMS - FSC AZ14 - NAICS 334511 Issue Date: 17 FEB 2016 - Closing Date: 17 MAR 2016 - 4:00 PM EASTERN This is a Request for Information (RFI) to identify sources that can provide useful recommendations to refine Government design standards being drafted by Electro-Optic Technology Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Indiana. Information obtained from this RFI will be utilized by the Government to refine design standards that may be invoked on possible future procurements of electro-optics and infrared and other imaging sensors to include sensors that may be required as a result of the ongoing Shipboard Passive/Augmented Detection & Evaluation (SPADE) Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA). The applicability of design standards to possible future procurements will be discussed at a technical interchange meeting. The anticipated design standards may also affect shipboard electrical, mechanical and combat system interfaces. Response to this RFI has three components (i) written submittal, (ii) technical interchange meeting attendance, and (iii) follow-up email/teleconference dialog. Contractors who provide useful recommendations in their written submittal will be invited to attend the technical interchange meeting scheduled to occur at NSWC Crane facilities on 8-9 June 2016. Acceptable written submittals must conform to all of the following criteria: 1. Submitted before the closing date of this announcement 2. Describes Contractor's expertise and experience with the topics defined below (#4-8) 3. Recommends open architecture design standards for the topics defined below (#4-8) 4. Addresses electro-optics or infrared or other imaging sensor products 5. Addresses electrical wiring and mechanical interfaces with host platform 6. Addresses software interfaces with host platform computing environment and elements of the combat system, navigation, and C4I enclaves 7. Addresses human-machine interface for effective employment of imaging sensors 8. Addresses modeling/simulation or test/evaluation to quantify sensor performance The Government does not intend to provide any further technical description prior to the closing date of this announcement. This RFI/sources sought does not constitute an Invitation for Bids (IFB), a Request for Quote (RFQ), or a Request for Proposal (RFP) and it should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the government to issue a formal solicitation or ultimately award a contract. The US Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse any companies or entities that respond to this announcement. Any costs incurred by interested companies in response to this announcement will NOT be reimbursed.
