Description

This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and does not obligate the Government to award a contract. Responses to this sources sought must be in writing. The purpose of this sources sought announcement is for market research to make appropriate acquisition decisions and to gain knowledge of potential small businesses interested and capable of providing the services described below. Documentation of technical expertise must be presented in sufficient detail for the Government to determine that your company possesses the necessary functional expertise and experience to compete for this acquisition. Responses to this notice shall include the following: (a) Company name, (b) Address (c) Point of contact (d) Phone, fax and email (e) DUNS number (f) Type of small business, e.g, Veteran owned (g) A capability statement or product specifications and shop drawings that addresses qualifications and ability to perform as a contractor for the work described below The Thomas E. Creek VA Health Care System is currently seeking a scope of maintenance contract for the current networked Nuance Enterprise dictation and transcription system that is currently in use in the Anatomic Pathology section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service located in Amarillo, Texas. The software is manufactured by Nuance Communications, Inc. The Nuance Enterprise dictation and transcription system is a powerful pathology reporting platform that combines speech recognition technology, data capture, multisite workflow, and structured reporting into a single unit. This software is used to provide dictation of anatomic pathology tissue examinations for diagnostic purposes. Additionally, the Amarillo VA Health Care System is seeking a contractor who can provide support and maintenance of all Nuance Voice Recognition PowerScribe software and equipment for Thomas E. Creek VA Health Care System in Amarillo, Texas, El Paso VA Health Care System in El Paso, Texas, and West Texas VA Health Care System in Big Spring, Texas. The contractor is needed to provide Nuance Option II Remote and 8 x 5 Onsite/Depot Repair Support Coverage to the list VA facilities. The Government is not obligated to nor will it pay for or reimburse any costs associated with responding to this sources sought synopsis request. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will in no way be bound to this information if any solicitation is issued. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 334614 (750 Employees). All offerors who provide goods or services to the U.S. Federal Government must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) located on the web at https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/ All interested offerors should submit their qualifications by email to: Robyn.Nussbaum@va.gov no later than March 4, 2016 at 12:00 CST. After review of the responses to this announcement, the Government intends to proceed with the issuance of a solicitation.
