- Description
- The Defense Logistics Agency, DLA Maritime Norfolk, Norfolk Naval Shipyard Contracting Division, intends to negotiate a Firm Fixed Price contract to procure anchor chain for the Norfolk Naval Shipyard to be used on the USS WASP. American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) certificates are required and the Department of Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) Clause 252.225-7019, Restriction on acquisition of anchor and mooring chain, will be included in the solicitation. Note that this DFARS clauses states that chain four (4) inches or less in diameter must be manufactured in the United States or its outlying areas. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 332999, All Other Miscellaneous Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing, and the procurement will be unrestricted. The contract line items are as follows: CLIN 0001: ANCHOR CHAIN 1-7/8' X 90', STUD LINK, DOMESTIC, IAW MIL-C-24633A, (2) SO MIL-C-24633A MILITARY SPECIFICATION CHAIN, STUD LINK, ANCHOR, LOW ALLOY STEEL, FLASH BUTT WELDED: 6.2 Acquisition requirements. Acquisition documents must specify the following: Title, number, and date of this specification. CHAIN, STUD LINK, ANCHOR, LOW ALLOY STEEL, FLASH BUTT WELDED, MIL-C-24633A, 24 APRIL 1990 Issue of DoDISS to be cited in the solicitation, and if required, the specific issue of individual documents referenced (see 2.1.1 and 2.2). AS SPECIFIED When first article inspection is required (see 3.1). FIRST ARTICLE INSPECTION IS NOT REQUIRED IF PREVIOUSLY PROVIDED TO THE GOVERNMENT. Chain size (link diameter) (see 3.3). 1-7/8" Number of shots of chain required (see 3.11). 2 SHOTS OF CHAIN ARE REQUIRED (90-FOOT SHOTS, 15 FATHOMS). Samples used in the first article inspection to be made available to the Government (see4.4.1.6). RETAINED AT THE MANUFACTURING FACILITY Disposition of chain samples (see 4.4.1.6). RETAINED AT THE MANUFACTURING FACILITY Packaging inspection if other than specified (see 4.8). AS SPECIFIED Special marking required (see 5.3.1). AS SPECIFIED The solicitation number is SPEYM1-16-Q-0046 and the solicitation is expected to be posted on or around 03 March 2016 and close on 10 March 2016.
