- The United States Coast Guard Surfaces Force Logistic Center, intends to issue a Commercial Request for Quote (RFQ) for DRYDOCK Repairs to the USCGC KANKAKEE. The acquisition will be solicited as full and open. The Coast Guard intends to conduct the procurement in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The simplified acquisition will be issued as a Best Value, Request for Quote (RFQ), on or about March 7, 2016. The solicitation will be issued electronically on the FEDBIZOPPS web page at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor the FEDBIZOPS web page for RFQ release and all subsequent amendments. Send all requests via e-mail donna.y.eubanks@uscg.mil REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Force Logistics Center, Norfolk, VA to identify sources capable of providing the following: Contractor shall provide all necessary facilities, materials, equipment, and personnel to DRYDOCK repairs to the USCGC KANKAKEE, a 75 Foot "F" Class River Buoy Tender and 130 Foot Barge. The USCGC KANKAKEE is home ported in Memphis, TN. Geographic Restriction: (General) Restricted to the Western Rivers of the United States, to a transit distance no greater than 650 river (statute) miles from the cutter's homeport and no open water transit. The "Western Rivers" means the navigational portions of the Mississippi River and its tributaries above mile 0 of the Lower Mississippi River. Navigable tributaries of the Mississippi River include only the waterways within the area of jurisdiction of Coast Guard Aids to navigation Facilities as described in Light List Volume V (COMDTINST M16502.5), and the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway to the mouth of the Mobile River. This includes protected portions of the Intra Coastal Waterway connected to the "Western Rivers," but specifically excluded unprotected or open waters such as Mobile Bay, Lake Borgne, and the Gulf of Mexico. From 01 November to 15 March: No transit through Melvin Price Lock and Dam during this period. SCOPE OF WORK: The scope of the acquisition is for the DRYDOCK repairs of the USCGC KANKAKEE.
