The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. This is for market research purposes only. Do not include pricing information; it will not be evaluated. The Government will not pay for any information submitted under this notice. This notice is to assist the VA in the determination of sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. Responses to this Sources Sought Notice are not a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 9 (NCO 9) located at 1639 Medical Center Parkway, Suite 400, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 is currently seeking information from any company that can provide Thoracic on-call services to eligible beneficiaries at the Robley Rex VA Medical Center, Louisville, KY. These services are solely dedicated to Veteran patients of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center. The Contractor shall furnish board eligible and/or board certified Thoracic Providers to perform services as noted below. It is understood that the quantities presented for bid are good faith estimates and that the actual number may be greater or less than those stated. 1. On-Call Coverage for General Thoracic - The Contractor will provide on-call consultation coverage in the absence of the Robley Rex VA Medical Center (VAMC) staff Thoracic Attending during weekdays, weekends (3:30 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday), holidays and periodic vacation days. This on-call includes acceptance of Veteran patients presenting with Thoracic conditions that can be managed at the Robley Rex VAMC, Louisville, KY. In cases of high complexity or unavailability of equipment and/or instrumentation, transfer is appropriate. The Contractor shall transfer the Veteran patient to a local hospital of the Contractor's choice; however, it must be within 20 miles of the Robley Rex VAMC. The Contractor must be able to properly manage acute Thoracic patients and must have admitting privileges at the specified local hospital. Except in cases of emergency, requirements for on-call coverage will be scheduled 90 days in advance. Coverage will include consultation with the Robley Rex VAMC's physicians regarding the appropriate medical care of Veterans presenting with Thoracic conditions and inpatient follow-up visits for any unstable inpatient. Initial response is expected within 30 minutes. Charges for hospital care completed at the VAMC will be reimbursed by the Robley Rex VAMC, Surgical Service, Louisville, KY. Charges for hospital care completed at a local hospital will be reimbursed by the Robley Rex VAMC, Non-VA Care Office, Louisville, KY. Reimbursement for on-call services will be based on an agreed upon unit(s) cost and reimbursement for consultation, rounding and/or surgical care will be based on Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rates. The VA seeks to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (HUBZone, 8(a), small, small disadvantaged or service disabled veteran owned small business) relative to NAICS Code 621112, Offices of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists); size standard of $11 Million. Responses to this Sources Sought will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions and developing a potential procurement strategy. After review of responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published in the FedBizOpps website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors will have to respond directly to any corresponding solicitation by submitting a proposal. The intended contract period would be for one base year and two, one-year option periods.
