Description
The Project Manager Maneuver Ammunition Systems (PM MAS) will be hosting a Lightweight Small Caliber Ammunition (LSCA) Industry Day. The Industry Day has been scheduled for 19 April 2016 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Rockaway, NJ, and will start at 8:30 AM EST, with onsite registration beginning at 8:00 AM EST. The Government is interested in lightweight cartridge case technologies for 7.62mm M80A1 and M62A1 ammunition that provide a minimum of 10% weight reduction when fully assembled over the conventional brass cased cartridges while maintaining equivalent performance and reliability requirements. The purpose of this Industry Day is to discuss the next phase of the LSCA Program and to improve Government knowledge of industry capabilities. Interested participants must pre-register for Industry Day by completing the registration form attached to this announcement. No more than three (3) representatives may attend from each company. This will be strictly enforced. All representatives MUST provide a Government form of photo identification at registration. Please send the completed registration form electronically to Ms. Julie Schmoll at julie.a.schmoll.civ@mail.mil no later than 4 April 2016. Any request for substitution of personnel must be received 24 hours in advance of the scheduled Industry Day and is subject to approval by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government will not be responsible for any expenses incurred by participant's decision to attend the LSCA Industry Day. All travel and other associated costs are to be assumed by the participant. Industry Day will consist of two (2) parts: (1) General session and (2) One-on-One sessions. The general session will be scheduled for the morning and will begin promptly at 8:30 AM EST with registration beginning at 8:00 AM EST and will cover the LSCA requirements and program strategy. The one-on-one sessions will be conducted in the afternoon. For planning purposes, companies interested in conducting one-on-ones must notify Ms. Julie Schmoll at julie.a.schmoll.civ@mail.mil no later than 6 April2016. Participants will receive their scheduled time slot when they check-in on the morning of 19 April 2016. • The following are the LSCA Industry Day Rules of Engagement (RoE): The Government intends to use this forum to better refine its requirements, not to elicit trade secrets. • Contractor personnel shall be limited to a total of three attendees per participating company. • No sales pitches allowed from industry; no giveaways. • No cameras, tape recorders, or other reproduction devices are allowed. • Total time allotted for the contractor's one-on-one session under no circumstances will be extended. • Restrict comments/questions to the topics listed in this forum. • Contractor personnel must be identified in advance, and only advance substitutes (24 hour advance notice) will be permitted. • All questions and answers received prior to and during the LSCA Industry Day will be posted after the Industry Day is conducted This announcement should not be construed as a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a commitment by the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this announcement.
