- The NAVSUP, Weapon Systems Support, Mechanicsburg, PA is issuing this Sources Sought synopsis as part of a market survey NAVSUP is seeking sources that manufacture a Commercial Off The Shelf Remotely Piloted Air Vehicle. All interested sources are encouraged to submit company and product literature, references and any other pertinent information for the Government ™s review, including business status (eg small business small disadvantaged business HUBZone women-owned etc) not to exceed 5 pages The product information for the RPAV shall address the requirements outlined in the below narrative and Tables. (see attachment) NARRATIVE: This Sources Sought is part of a Market Survey and may be used to support an Acquisition Strategy seeking a Commercial-Off-The-Shelf item. The item is described as an air platform configured as either a rotary wing multi-rotor copter or vertical take off and land (VTOL) type aircraft. Performance The aircraft must be capable of sustaining payloads of at least three pounds with a minimum flight time of twenty minutes. Objectively the aircraft can sustain payloads of ten pounds with a flight time of forty-five minutes The aircraft must be able to capture full motion video in low light conditions with an objective of infrared capability The video system shall not be included in the payload sustainment weight. The aircraft shall have a range of five hundred meters with an objective range of three kilometers The aircraft should be capable of manual flight mode with an objective of autonomous flight control in a GPS denied environment. The physical characteristics of the aircraft should allow for two man portability and operation with an objective of one man portability and operation. At the current time, NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE for contractual efforts. This is not a request for proposals or offers, and any information provided will be done so on a voluntary basis The US Government is in no way liable to pay for or reimburse companies or entities that submit literature in response to this announcement, and no entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges will arise as a result of the submission of information. Nothing in this announcement constitutes an obligation on the part of the US Government The Government is only seeking possible sources for future needs if they arise. No solicitation document exists at this time. THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED Interested vendors should provide information regarding this announcement by email submissions only
