- Description
- Pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, and documented in pre-solicitation notice N00019-16-P1-PMA-276-0006, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc. (BHTI) an advanced acquisition contract (AAC) for the long lead procurement items required to support the Lot 14 production of an estimated 24 AH-1Z helicopters. Any variation in the aforementioned aircraft quantities procured will be in accordance with quantities approved by Congress and/or any Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements, as required in signed Letter(s) of Offer and Acceptance (LOA). BHTI is the only responsibly source and no other type of equipment will satisfy Marine Corps requirements. BHTI is the designer, developer and sole producer of the aircraft and the only known source that possesses the data, technical skills and requisite knowledge of the design, fabrication, performance, operation, maintenance and support characteristics of the AH-1Z to fulfill this need in a timely matter. NAVAIR intends to definitize this AAC into a fixed price contract no later than 31 December 2016. This production contract consists of procuring and fabricating components, integrating and installing Contractor Furnished and Government Furnished Equipment. Requirements also include, but are not limited to Systems Engineering/Program Management (SEPM), Support Equipment and Tooling, publications, logistics support, quality assurance, reliability and maintainability programs, technical, administrative, and financial data requirements, spares, provisional supplies and support for training, logistics, engineering and administrative support.
