- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, and the Philadelphia Regional Port Authority (PRPA) will host a Pre-Solicitation Conference for all interested contractors concerning the planned dredging in the upper Delaware Bay (Upper Reach E) associated with the ongoing Delaware River Main Channel Deepening Project. The purpose of the conference is to discuss the scope of the planned dredging contract and to seek dredging industry input and questions regarding best practices for the technical execution of the dredging. Topics of discussion will include, but will not be limited to: project location, available geotechnical and survey data, project schedule, environmental dredging windows, monitoring and protection of endangered species, turbidity monitoring, dredged material disposal concerns, potential impacts to navigation during dredging, and coordination with the U.S. Coast Guard. The conference will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the PSEG Energy & Environmental Resource Center (EERC), located at 244 Chestnut Street, Salem, New Jersey 08079. The conference will begin at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following the conference all interested contractors are invited to visit the Artificial Island disposal area, which is the Federal disposal area available for the contract. Directions to the disposal area will be provided at the conference. Attendees must provide their own transportation to the EERC and the disposal area. All attendees must pre-register for the conference by submitting their name and company affiliation to Ms. Sandi Fletcher at Sandra.G.Fletcher@usace.army.mil. PLEASE NOTE: Due to security requirements, only pre-registered individuals will be allowed access to Artificial Island. Please note: There is currently no "dial-in" information available.
