- This Notice contains "amendment to Solicitation" items and "Vendor questions" at the end of this document. Amendment to Solicitation 1.The deadlines stated in E.3 (Addendum to FAR 52.212-1 Instruction to Offerors) are to remain the same. 2. Amendment to section B.2.2 - General Scope a.It was: The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision to provide the services described in B.2.9 to be performed by a qualified on-site technician (see section B.2.10) during the service hours stated in section B.2.9.10 to Government-owned biomedical equipment at the location described in section B.2.6. b.It now reads: The Contractor shall provide all necessary labor, materials, supplies, tools, equipment, transportation, and supervision to provide the services described in B.2.9 to be performed by a qualified on-site technician (see section B.2.10) during the service hours stated in section B.2.9.10 to Government-owned biomedical equipment (see section B.2.4) at the location described in section B.2.6. 3.Amendment to section B.2.4 - Equipment Identification c.It was: The following equipment list includes, but is not limited to, the biomedical equipment that shall receive the required services. All the sub-sections in section were edited to reflect the proper section and subsection numbering. 6.Amendment to section E.3. Sections E.3.8(6) and E.3.8(7) currently makes reference to section E.4 (FAR52.212-2 - Evaluation - Commercial Items). Vendor Questions Q1. The safe patient handling alert(VA Patient Safety Alert, AL 14-07, Checklist for Corrective Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance(PM) asks about deflection of rails and above ceiling infrastructure ¦..is this part of the PM service? A Yes, this's part of the test. Q2. Besides straps; batteries and kill cord what additional parts are part of the PM? A Unless the system is not passing the PM test, straps and batteries are the only things that need to be replaced. Q3. Are repair parts supplied by VA or contractor? A The Government ("VA") will supply repair parts. Q4. Who is responsible for the cost of repair parts? AIf the repair is being sent out, the VA covers the cost. If the repair is done in house, the VA will buy parts and the Contractor shall repair the equipment. Q5. Do you require a full time ARJO tech on site for emergencies service calls? ANo, but each tech should know how to handle a number of emergencies to include Arjo emergencies. Q6. How will service calls outside of annual PM be handled (cost and time to arrive on-site? AThe vendor/VA Biomed will decide during normal business hours whether or not equipment should be sent out or repaired in house. If a repair is done in house, VA will purchase parts and the Contractor shall fix the equipment. If a repair is done outside, VA will pay for the repair cost.
