Description
This is a Sources Sought Notice. This Sources Sought neither constitutes a Request for Proposal, nor does it restrict the Government to an ultimate acquisition approach. This Sources Sought should not be construed as a commitment by the Government for any purpose. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response. This Sources Sought Notice is in support of a market survey being conducted by the St. Louis District, Corps of Engineers to identify interested Contractors within the District area for the Scope of Work listed below. The following are general capabilities required to perform the Scope of Work according to USACE standards. The Contractor must be capable to perform the Scope of Work listed below. General Project Description: The U.S. Army Reserve/88th RSC is located in Tacoma, Washington, at 401 Alexander Ave., Pier 23, Tacoma, WA 98421. The Army Reserve has several watercraft moored at this location, one of the watercraft being a large barge mounted crane BD-6804. This crane has several wire ropes of various sizes and diameters that need lubricated as a routine maintenance job. A.) Work Statement - U.S. Army Reserve Crane: The pending work required herein consists of furnishing all plant, labor, equipment, and material, and performing all operations necessary for lubrication of wire rope on U.S. Army Reserve Crane BD-6804. The work will require the contractor to coordinate with the contracting officer representative to coordinate a time to perform the work. The work covered by this document and its respective task orders shall consist of lubricating wire rope on Army Vessel BD-6804, of which is to satisfactorily be performed on U.S. Government Lands and/or U.S. Government Sponsored work in accordance with the performance-based specifications contained herein and contained in task orders issued against this contract. Work to be satisfactorily performed in this contract shall include: lubricating all sections of wire rope located on the Boom Hoist, two (2) main fall ropes, two (2) auxiliary fall ropes, and one (1) whip fall rope. All work shall be performed to the satisfaction of the Contracting Officer. The contract area consists BD-6804, which is a U.S. Army Reserve Service Crane. The crane is a BARGE MOUNTED, 1999 Amclyde crane de-rated to 115 Ton load capacity. The BD-6804 is located at the U.S. Army Reserve Center, 401 Alexander Ave., Pier 23, Tacoma, WA 98421. Specific items that are to be lubricated include the following: • 2885 ft. boom hoist rope 1 3/4 inch • 1359 ft. main (1) fall rope 1 5/8 inch • 1359 ft. main (2) fall rope 1 5/8 inch • 837 ft. aux. (1) fall rope 1 inch • 837 ft. aux. (2) fall rope 1 inch • 588 ft. whip fall rope 1 1/8 inch Any length of wire rope which cannot be unspooled due to safety and operational requirements of the crane will be lubricated on the drums. B.) Capability Statements: Note: Under capability statements below, in addition to listing general experience, specifically include a listing of any USACE projects on which you demonstrated the required capability, including large equipment projects. 1.
