Description
THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT. The information provided in this document is provided as information only. US Department of Energy, Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest (DSW) Region located in Phoenix, Arizona is conducting market research to identify potential business sources (including 8(a), veteran-owned small business, service-disable veteran-owned small business, HUB Zone small business, small disadvantaged business, women-owned small business concerns and other than small businesses) with the capacity and technical capability necessary to successfully perform the requirement described herein. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement. The Government will use responses to this Sources Sought Notice to make appropriate acquisition decisions. This requirement is under the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 113310, "Logging." Interested firms must demonstrate in their capability statement that they are qualified to perform the work under this NAICS code. DSW covers various regions over a large geographical within Arizona, and along the borders of Arizona, Nevada and Southern California. The contractor shall removal and trimming of a number of large trees (including some in excess of 40 inches in dbh and 70 feet in height) along electrical transmission line right-of-ways in order to provide adequate line clearance and access to the high voltage transmission line. The contractor shall perform Danger Tree Removals, tree trimming, and felling functions as needed at any location along the DSW's transmission line rights-of-way. The contractor may be required perform work at the following locations various regions over a large geographical within Arizona, and along the borders of Arizona, Nevada and California. Respond to this Sources Sought by March 22, 2016; 2:00 P.M. (MST). Responses should include: (1) Business Name and Address, (2) Point of Contact Name, Phone Number, email address, company website (if applicable), (3) Technical expertise relevant to the requirement (4) Type/Size of Business, (5) Provide DSW with a detailed capability statement and/or relevant past performance history especially working with utility companies documenting its ability to perform similar requirements. Past performance should include • Contract name • Contracting Agency or Department • Yearly contract value (in $) • Period of performance • Description of work and how it relates to the requirements • Description of equipment used to complete like work Responses are limited to 15 pages. Please specify one primary and one alternate Point of Contact (POC) within your firm, including telephone numbers and email addresses. All businesses interested in providing this service are encouraged to reply by email to Bachelier@wapa.gov.
