- THIS IS A SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is not a solicitation, request for quote, or proposal and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. The Military Sealift Command has a requirement for the USNS APACHE (T-ATF-172) Midterm Availability (MTA) beginning on or about 1 September 2016 with a performance period of 28 days. The MTA will be conducted at a contractor's facility on the East Coast, U.S. The estimated issue date of this solicitation (N32205-16-R-4404) is on or about 13 April 2016. After issuance, the solicitation may be obtained on the FedBizOpps website: https://www.fbo.gov/. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Major work items (WI) include but are not limited to the following: 1. 101 Kick Pipe Steel Repairs 2. 108 Repair Tops of Stacks P and S 3. 109 Preserve and Paint Hull House and Stacks 4. 110 Engine Room Bilge Preservation 5. 402 Gyro Groom 6. 403 GMDSS Recertification 7. 404 Radar Maintenance 8. 406 Wind Bird Calibration 9. 503 Tow Pin Box Renewal 10. 515 Crane Extension Cylinder Replacement 11. 601 Annual Firefighting Inspection 12. 602 Davit Extension Installation 13. 604 Life Rafts Annual Service 14. 607 Potable Water Foundation 15. 608 Stateroom Arrangement and Plumbing 16. 802 Galley and Laundry Ventilation The solicitation will be released as a small business set-aside. Market research from the sources sought identified two or more small business capable of performing requirements for the upcoming MTA. The MSC Small Business Office concurs with the small business set aside determination. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The appropriate NAICS Code for this requirement is 336611, Ship Building and Repair, which has a small business size standard of 1,000 employees.
