Description
CDC Innovation Training - I Catalyst Program 2016-94760 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Procurement and Grants Office (PGO) intends to award a sole source purchase order to Georgia Tech Research Corporation, 505 10th Street, Atlanta, GA 30332-0420 for a CDC-adapted version of the National Science Foundation's I-Corps curriculum training course based on the unique and highly specialized nature of this requirement to assist CDC in meeting critical and urgent training needs. The course is to be provided by Lefe Science Instructor certified by National Science Foundation. The scope of work for the project will include the design, development, and conduct of training activities for the CDC I-Catalyst program. Content and materials will be identified and developed to meet the goals of I-Catalyst program in areas such as, but not limited to Customer Discovery, Lean Startup, Prototyping, Story Telling, and others relevant topics. Centers and Institutes within CDC will participate in identifying early-stage project ideas that meet the agency's immediate and emerging needs. The training will guide individuals and teams through a series of in-person and virtual workshops, presentations, and activities that help participants articulate a problem statement, and create an evidence-based plan for assessment of that problem space. The second half of the training program takes those problems that have been initially vetted, and applies the tenets of Customer Discovery, Lean Startup, Prototyping, Story Telling, and others relevant topics and methodologies. The CDC I-Catalyst program is to build on the successes of the NSF curriculum and that Georgia Tech is one of the four NSF certified notes with implementing that curriculum by certified Life Science Instructors. Georgia Tech seems uniquely positioned to provide the requested training date and materials. The Georgia Tech node works cooperatively to build, utilize and sustain a national innovation ecosystem that further enhances the development of technologies, products and processes that benefit society. The Georgie Tech node is staffed with NSF certified National Life Science trained instructors who have taught the I-Corps methodology to faculty and staff from research institutes throughout the US, as well as in France and Puerto Rico. The Georgia Tech node has direct experience in the modification of materials specific for target audiences, as well the teaching of curriculum to participants from settings other than academia. The delivery time is a 12-month base period and one (1) 12-month option period. The anticipated award date is 21 March 2016. The estimated amount for the purchase order is estimated at $115,000.00 for both year. This is not a small business set-aside acquisition. The North American Industry Classification Code is 541990. This advertisement ends in 10 days in accordance with FAR 5.203(A)(1). Any interested parties are welcome to submit their qualification and ability to provide the specified services via e-mail, CTTucker@cdc.gov and Klemaster@cdc.gov. Please include reference number 2016-94760. Please respond by 19 March 2016. This is not a Request for Quote (RFQ). A determination not to compete based on responses received, and to proceed with a noncompetitive award is solely at the discretion of the Government.
