Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD ON A SOLE SOURCE BASIS: THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS, AN INVITATION FOR BIDS, OR A REQUEST FOR QUOTATIONS. FURHTERMORE, IT DOES NOT REPRESENT A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PAY FOR COSTS INCURRED IN PREPARATION AND SUBMISSION OF DATA OR ANY OTHER COSTS INCURRED IN RESPONSE TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT. The Alexandria VA Medical Center Contracting Office intends to solicit and award a Firm Fixed-Price sole source contract to Karl Storz Endoskope for implementing Operation Room Video Integration for Phase 2 Operating Rooms compatible with the existing network based solution residing at Michael E. DeBakey VA medical Center in Houston, TX under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), on or about 30 March 2016. The Contractor is required to ensure the Phase 2 HD OR video integration system matches functionality with the existing Integrated rooms and reduce learning curve for the OR staff to train on a single Integration system for all rooms allowing for future expansion with minimal operational impact. The applicable NAICS code for this requirement is 339112, and the size standard is 500. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency before the intended award date. Interested sources who submit data are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. The Government shall not reimburse interested sources for any information provided. No requests for capability briefings will be honored as a result of this notice and any information provided will not be used as part of any subsequent solicitation requirement. No telephonic inquires will be honored. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
