- Description
- The USDA NRCS in New York is preparing to issue a solicitation for work authorized under the Emergency Watershed Protection Program due to heavy rain and flooding conditions as a result of Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee, to relieve imminent hazards to life and property. The project shall protect the west and east banks of Cattail Creek and shall also reduce the sediment load into the creek. The project focuses on the installation of approximately 660' of stacked rock wall, four stream barbs and one cross vane to stabilize the banks of Cattail Creek. The project is located downstream of the bridge where Shandelee Road and CR 149/Main Street crosses over Cattail Brook, in the Town of Rockland, Livingston Manor, New York. The site can be located at 41.823° N Latitude and 74.954° W Longitude. The solicitation will be a Total Small Business set-aside. Interested contractors must be registered as Active, and must complete the annual representations and certifications electronically via the System for Award Management (SAM) at http://www.sam.gov in order to be eligible for award. A bid bond in the amount of 20% is required to be submitted with any Bid. Payment and Performance Bonds in the amount of 100% will be required within 5 calendar days of award of contract. The location of the work sites will be within the flooded areas and as described in the solicitation. All necessary permits and land rights have been acquired. A firm-fixed price award is anticipated under sealed bidding procedures. The solicitation package, construction drawings and specifications will be posted and available from this site on or about March 30, 2016. Bids will be due and opened on Tuesday, May 3, 2016. A pre-bid site showing is being planned for Monday, April 11, 2016 the details of which will be specified in the solicitation package. Price Range is between than $100,000 - $250,000.
