Description

Combined Synopsis Solicitation The Chemical Sciences Division (CSD) of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association Earth System Research Laboratory (NOAA ESRL) requires a chemical ionization high-resolution time-of-flight mass spectrometer (HRTOF) in support of its trace gas measurement program. CSD makes trace gas measurements during field intensives to improve the scientific understanding of the atmospheric emissions and chemical processes that contribute to air quality issues and climate change. The chemical ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometer requested here has a superior sensitivity, time and mass resolution compared with existing instruments at NOAA. This will allow much more detailed measurements of a wide range of atmospheric pollutants, in support of the NOAA mission to understand the air quality and climate issues facing the Nation.
