- This is a SYNOPSIS NOTICE ONLY. This is not a solicitation or request for quotes or proposals and no contract or purchase order will be awarded from this notice. There is no solicitation, specifications or drawings available at this time. Military Sealift Command (MSC) - Norfolk will be issuing a solicitation on or about 8 April 2016 for the Regular Overhaul/DryDocking (ROH/DD) of the USNS HENRY J. KAISER (T-AO 187) commencing on or about 19 October 2016 for a period of seventy-one (71) calendar days. The USNS HENRY J. KAISER (T-AO 187) has a length of 677.5 ft, a breadth of 97.5 ft, an anticipated arrival draft of 20 ft frd and 27ft aft not including a minimum draft clearance of three (3) beneath the keel at mean lower low water (MLLW). The vessel is 20,706 tons gross. Work is to be performed at Contractor's facility on or about the abovementioned dates. Area of consideration is West Coast. Major work items associated with this availability include: Major work items associated with this availability include General Services, Clean and Gas Free Tanks, Ballast Tank Blast and Paint, Cargo Tank Blast and Paint, Cargo and Ballast Tank Close UP survey, Expansion Joint Structural Steel Replacement, Port and Starboard ME 72,000 Hour Overhaul, Starboard ME Coupling and shaft brake Replacement, Dry Docking, Underwater Hull Blast and Paint, Propeller Maintenance, Tailshaft Inspection 15 yr and Repair UNREP Quad cargo gear survey Blocks and Sheaves. The Request for Proposals (RFP) will be available on Federal Business Opportunities (www.fbo.gov) website under Solicitation Number N32205-16-R-4008. The requirement will be solicited as a Full and Open Competition. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. The estimated date of the solicitation is on or about 08 April 2016. Upon issuance, the solicitation and supporting documentation will be posted and can be found on FEDBIZOPS (http://www.fbo.gov/) under solicitation number N32205-16-R-4008. All requests must provide Dun and Bradstreet number and Cage Code. The appropriate NAICS code is 336611. Again, THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES OR PROPOSALS. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information received from potential sources as a result of this synopsis. There are NO RESPONSES due based on this pre-solicitation notice.
