- Description
- The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), Office of Security Technology has created a Request for Information (RFI) to seek information to identify and assess technologies and systems that can actively or passively prevent inmates from utilizing any type of contraband electronic communication device in order to communicate with anyone within or outside of the secure perimeter. The solution should be comprehensive of a correctional facility in all environments (rural, suburban and metropolitan). Note that generalized jamming of cellphone communications is prohibited by federal law unless otherwise authorized. Interested parties shall not be reimbursed for any costs related to the development and submission of information in response to this RFI. This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. AMENDED ON MARCH 23, 2016 TO REOPEN Please see attachment for full RFI details and questions.
