- Sources Sought Notice - Cell Sorter with Biosafety Cabinet THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTES - THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE AND INFORMATION SUBMITTED WILL BE USED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU) is the Nation's federal health sciences university and is committed to excellence in military medicine and public health during peace and war. We provide the Nation with health professionals dedicated to career service in the Department of Defense and the United States Public Health Service and with scientists who serve the common good. We serve the uniformed services and the Nation as an outstanding academic health sciences center with a worldwide perspective for education, research, service, and consultation; we are unique in relating these activities to military medicine, disaster medicine, and military medical readiness. USU is located in Bethesda, MD on the grounds of the Naval Support Activity Bethesda. Additional information regarding USU can be found on our website: www.usuhs.mil. USU has a requirement for a cell sorter with biosafety cabinet. The requested cell sorter is needed for many research projects that are conducted by USU scientists and PhD students. Due to the high demand for cell sorting BIC's Flow Cytometry Core is being utilized more and more to the extent that an additional cell sorter is required. This instrument will double our cell sorting capability so that we meet the demands of the USHUS researchers. USU is currently using a BD FACSAria III cell sorter, which we intend on continuing to use. REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONSJUSTIFICATION FOR SPECIFICATION: 4 Lasers (405nm, 488nm, 561nm, 635nm)We need to be able to use the existing instrument and the new one interchangebly, so a similar configuration is necessary. Enclosed into a biosafety cabinetWe work with human and /or potentially hazardous materials (BSL 2+ level) DESIRED SPECIFICATIONS: •BD FACSDiva software v8.0 or laterBIC Flow cytometry facility currently has 3 BD Biosciences flow cytometers and they all are operated through the BD FACSDiva TM software. It is beneficial to have similar software in all instruments as a prolonged period, often months, is required to master the software. Multiple researchers use this equipment and it would be necessary to train all of them on the use of different software. •4 Way Sort •Detection of 14 Colors Simultaneously If you are interested in this requirement, please answer the following questions: 1.Are the specifications listed above clear? 2.Are you able to quote a cell sorter with biosafety cabinet that will meet the specifications identified above? 3.If no, what specifications could you not meet? 4.What is the brand name and model number of the equipment you would quote? 5.Is the equipment manufactured by yourself or another company? 6.If the equipment is manufactured by another company, what is the name of the manufacturer? 7.For equipment manufactured by a company other than BD, please provide a brief description of the software and the ease of use and training options. 8.What type of warranty is provided (duration)? 9.Are you able to provide extended warranties? If yes, for how many additional years? 10.Are you able to provide firm-fixed pricing for future maintenance periods (option years)? 11.If yes, how many option years are you able to quote firm-fixed pricing for? Please provide the following with your submission: 1.Company name and address 2.DUNS Number 3.Socio-Economic Status (Small, SDVOSB, etc.) - Socio-economic status will be verified in SAM.gov. 4.Point of Contact (Name, Email and Phone Number) All responses are due April 4th and must be emailed to michelle.creenan@usuhs.edu.
