- NON-COMPETITIVE SYNOPSIS ***PLEASE CONTACT HAROLD SMITH/ARCS WITH ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS OR TO SUBMIT CAPABILITIES TO HAROLD.SMITH-1@NASA.GOV *** NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) has a requirement for the purchase of a one year contract that provides periodic maintenance of the computed tomography (CT) system at MSFC in support of the EM20 Damage Tolerance Assessment Branch. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the Periodic Preventative Maintenance support to Varian Medical systems, Inc. on a sole source basis. The MSFC EM20 Damage Tolerance Assessment Branch has previously purchased A CT system custom designed, complex mechanical system designed and constructed by Varian. The CT system contains components that are proprietary to Varian, who is the only vendor qualified to perform periodic maintenance on the system. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 4/5/2016 by 2:00 p.m. CST. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
