Description

SPECIAL NOTICE: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 11, in accordance with FAR 6.302.1 (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Varian Medical Systems, 3290 Northside Parkway, Suite 400, Atlanta, GA 30327 for software upgrades, service, and maintenance of Varian TrueBeam Essentials equipment (MLC 120, MV Imager, KV Imager, Rapid Arc, and Optical imaging). NAICS 811219 applies. A firm fixed price contract with no option years is anticipated and shall be awarded. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. It is not a solicitation or request for offers; this is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE. No solicitation package is available. A determination not to compete is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. Responses must clearly indicate and show proof that they are a Varian certified machine service technician. Responses must also show proof that they can perform service and maintenance on the Varian TrueBeam Essentials equipment listed above. Responses must also clearly and convincing evidence that they can provide Varian original equipment manufacturer (OEM) parts with software, service and maintenance. Responses must be emailed to kevin.pendleton@va.gov. Responses must be received no later than 1:00 PM EDST/EDT on March 31, 2016. No mail, or email, telephone inquiries with questions will be accepted.
