Description
THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS PROJECT WILL BE POSTED ON OR ABOUT APRIL 14, 2016. Description of Work: Load, haul, place, and compact stockpiled 1 ½" minus crushed aggregate on National Forest System Road 41, a single lane road with turnouts. Culvert cleaning, culvert replacements, and cattle guard removals shall be completed prior to reconditioning the ditches, shoulders, and existing crushed aggregate surfacing. Prior to placing aggregate, spread lengths shall be marked on the ground to ensure uniform distribution of aggregate to a loose depth of 6" over the full width of the road. Upon placement of the stockpiled aggregate, watering, mixing, and processing shall result in a well-graded mixture, suitable for compaction. When compaction is completed, the course of crushed aggregate shall be to the specified widths, with a tolerance of +1 foot. From the courthouse in Pomeroy, Washington, travel east on Main Street/U.S. Highway 12 for 9.3 miles and turn right onto Sweeney Gulch Road: From the junction of 15th Street and Bridge Street/U.S. Highway 12 in Clarkston, Washington, travel west on U.S. Highway 12 for 19.8 miles and turn left onto Sweeney Gulch Road: Proceed south on Sweeney Gulch Road, staying on the asphalt, for 13.9 miles to the Umatilla National Forest boundary. Continue south on National Forest System Road 42 for 7.1 miles to the junction of National Forest Road 41 and the beginning of the project. 46° 12´ 25.07" N 117° 33´ 30.18" W Alternate route: From the junction of Washington State Route 129 and Asotin Creek Road, in Asotin, Washington, travel west on Asotin Creek Road for 2.9 miles to the junction of Asotin Creek Road and Cloverland Road. Keep to the right on Asotin Creek Road and travel 11.3 miles to the junction of South Fork Asotin Creek Road and Lick Creek Road. Keep to the right on Lick Creek Road and travel 4.2 miles to the end of the project. 46° 15´ 27.87" N 117° 21´ 23.30" W Materials source: From the beginning of project, travel west on National Forest System Road 42 for 0.9 miles. Turn right onto National Forest System Road 40 and travel 0.5 miles. Turn right onto National Forest System Road 4000180 and travel 0.1 miles to the stockpile site on the left.The project is located approximately 30 miles south of Pomeroy, Washington, in Garfield and Asotin Counties. The Government's estimate is between $250,000 and $500,000.
