- Description
- The Strategic Systems Programs intends to contract with Lockheed Martin Mission Systems and Training (LMMST) Mitchel Field NY, a division of Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMC), to provide the following efforts for TRIDENT II (D5) SSP Shipboard Systems Integration (SSI) Increments 4, 8, 13, 15, OHIO REPLACEMENT and U.K. SUCCESSOR shipboard navigation subsystem development for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) Program. The purpose of this contact is to provide SSP with the technical and program management support services associated with the TRIDENT II SSI Increment 4, SSI Increment 8, SSI Increment 13, SSI Increment 15, OHIO REPLACEMEN T, and U.K. SUCCESSOR for the Navigation Subsystem. This contract will provide SSP with the required Navigation hardware and software design, testing, installation, and deliverables for the SSI Increments. The contract will contain both United States and United Kingdom sponsored efforts for FY17 and options for FY18 efforts. As the design agent, LMMST is the only known source with the requisite design background, system knowledge and operational experience relative to the TRIDENT II D5 Backfit Navigation Subsystem capable of providing the required effort with existing cost and schedule constraints. The Contract will include an option provision to increase the level-of-effort items up to 30%. This NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITVE PROPOSALS. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. The Government does not intend to use Part 12 for the acquisition. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. All responses must be received within fifteen days from the date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
