- Gasket material drawing RF Gasket Material - Sources Sought NOTICE : This is not a solicitation but rather a Sources Sought Synopsis to determine potential sources for information and planning purposes only for acquisition of RF shielding gasket material. The Air Force is conducting market research to discover if responsible sources exist, to assist in determining if this effort can be competitive and/or fit within one of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Set-Aside designated programs. The proposed North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334419, which has a corresponding Size standard of 500 employees. The Government will use this information to determine the best acquisition strategy for this procurement, e.g., identify potential vendors who can provide the required material, determine a reasonable expectation of delivery time, determine a budgetary rough order of magnitude (ROM) cost, and confirm that the selected North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code identified above is appropriate to use for the procurement of the gasket material. The Government is interested in all small businesses to include 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Hubzone, and Women-Owned small business concerns. The government requests that interested parties respond to this notice if applicable and identify your small business status to the identified NAICS code. Additionally, please provide any anticipated teaming arrangements, along with a description of similar services offered to the Government and to commercial customers for the past three years. Any responses involving teaming agreements should delineate between the work that will be accomplished by the prime and the work accomplished by the teaming partners. Program Details: For planning and information purposes, the Atmospheric Early Warning System Section (AFLCMC/HBZIA) at Hill Air Force Base, UT is seeking potential sources for radio frequency (RF) gasket finger stock that meets the requirements described below. Background The pedestal electronics cabinets of the AN/FPS-117 Long Range Radars (LRRs) have RF gasket material around the edges of the doors to prevent unwanted RF energy from entering or leaving the cabinets. The AN/FPS-117 LRRs were installed over thirty years ago and the gasket material has started to fail. Requirements Prospective vendors need to determine if they can provide RF gaskets that meet the requirements described on the drawing below. All dimensions on the drawing are in inches. Additionally, prospective vendors should recommend appropriate plating to be used on the gasket material as the original plating was cadmium and cadmium is now discouraged for use within the Air Force. Market Survey Please describe your company's ability to provide the required RF gasket material. Please recommend a suitable substitution for the original specification for cadmium plating. Please provide a ROM for delivery time. Please provide budgetary ROM for providing 120 side ground strips and 120 top/bottom ground strips (total of 240 strips) Please confirm or recommend an alternative NAICS code to be used for the solicitation.
