Description
Drawing Pictures Request For Information- Knuckle Boom Crane Background The Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (JMTC) is currently conducting market research on knuckle boom cranes. Market Research is to determine what industry offers and whether or not JMTC's proposed specifications are feasible. JMTC is based out of the Rock Island Arsenal, Rock Island, IL. The knuckle boom crane will be mounted on a flat rack deployable Forward Repair System (FRS-H). Photos of the FRS-H system are attached for reference. Specifications The current FRS-H system includes a crane capable of lifting 10,000 lbs. JMTC is interested in determining if a crane capable of lifting 15,250 lbs. is feasible and available. Conceptual sketch RIA157278 is attached which outlines preliminary requirements of the crane. The specifications have some flexibility. At this time, the most important characteristics are: 15,250 lb. lift capacity, ability to fit in the specified space envelope, and ability to bolt-up to the existing crane mount. Weight of the crane is also important. A crane with minimized weight is preferred. Specifications such as reliability testing are not important at this time. JMTC may be interested in cranes that do not meet all specifications. For example, a crane with a lift capacity of only 15,000 lbs., but meeting all other requirements, may still be of interest. Information Requested 1. Feasibility statement regarding whether or not it is possible to offer a crane meeting the specifications outlined above. Indicate specific specifications that may not be able to be met. 2. Estimated confidence level regarding the feasibility. For example, 95% likely that a crane can be provided meeting the specifications outlined above. 3. If you cannot provide a crane meeting the specifications, please provide a brief executive summary that outlines why the specifications cannot be met. One or two sentences describing why the specifications may not be met is acceptable. 4. Weight estimate of the proposed knuckle boom crane. 5. A cut sheet or list outlining the various capabilities and requirements for the proposed crane. 6. A brief statement/summary regarding cranes that you have provided in the past for military applications. 7. Please provide cage code, email, and point of contacts with your response.
