Description
PUMP LIST The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) seeks information on commercial vendors that are capable of providing evaluation and rebuilding services for a specific set of vacuum pumps as itemized in the attached spreadsheet. After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed, NIST may conduct a competitive procurement. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then any competitive procurement that resulted would be conducted as a small business set-aside. 1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: NIST is seeking vendors capable of providing vacuum pump rebuilding services. Please answer and provide information as requested below: a. Does your company rebuild vacuum pumps in house or engage a third party? b. Does your company rebuild any of the following vacuum pump types either directly or through a third party? Specific brands and models are listed in the attached spreadsheet: a. Turbo-molecular vacuum pump b. Dry scroll vacuum pump c. Dry rotary vacuum pump d. Dry multi-stage roots vacuum pump e. Cryo vacuum pump c. Does your company include documentation of the refurbishment and performance test certification? d. Does your company provide local pickup and delivery service? If not, what are typical crating and delivery charges from your place of business to zip code 20899? e. Does your company provide on-site vacuum pump rebuild services? f. What is the sequence of operation for a customer to obtain rebuilding services? a. Is there a pickup fee? Is it a fixed fee? b. Is there an evaluation fee? Is it a fixed fee? c. Do you itemize required parts and labor? d. Do you maintain a standard price list for replacement parts? e. Is there a packaging/crating fee? f. Is there a delivery fee? g. What is the standard turnaround time for evaluation and rebuild? h. The pumps listed in the attached spreadsheet are subject to change as new technology makes certain models obsolete. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large, foreign, and small businesses. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 333911, as those domestic sources having 500 employees or less. Please include your company's size classification and socio-economic status in any response to this notice. Companies that provide rebuilding services for vacuum pumps are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to Lynda.Roark@nist.gov no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. NIST is interested in knowing if vendors are able to support all of the pumps identified in the attached spreadsheet. The report should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to your product or capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of company(ies) that are authorized to sell and/or repair the system components, their addresses, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 2. Indication of whether each service for which specifications are sent to Lynda.Roark@nist.gov are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 3. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
