Description
Packaged document for D-ATCT RFI This is a Request for Information (RFI). Please review the attached document for details. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only, which as part of market research, is being issued in accordance with (IAW) Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 15.201(e). This is NOT a solicitation. NO CONTRACT shall be awarded as a result of this RFI. NO SOLICITATION will necessarily result from this RFI. Air Traffic Control & Landing Systems (ATCALS) will not pay respondents for information provided in response to this RFI. NO PRICING information shall be provided. Any pricing information received will be REMOVED and NOT CONSIDERED by the Government. DESCRIPTION: The ATCALS program office located at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma is requesting information from industry to assist in the planning for the acquisition of a Deployable Air Traffic Control Tower (D-ATCT). The D-ATCT is envisioned to be a mobilized self-contained unit, larger and extend higher than the current Tower Restoral Vehicle (MSN-7), less maintenance intensive while providing greater air traffic control (ATC) capability. The current planning strategy is that up to nineteen (19) D-ATCT systems be developed and distributed throughout the Department of the Air Force replacing Air National Guard (ANG), Air Combat Command (ACC) and United States Europe (USAFE) MSN-7 Tower Restoral Vehicles. D-ATCT will provide worldwide ATC expeditionary tower control capability for joint, coalition and civil aircraft to direct and monitor air missions. As a Command and Control (C2) node, the D-ATCT system will aid in understanding and provide Situational Awareness (SA) of the air picture by supplying ATC and aircraft information to other ATC and C2 agencies/facilities. D-ATCT is an integral part of ATC by providing a tower capability for controllers to see the air and ground picture for sequencing, separating, launching and recovery of aircraft. D-ATCT can be used with both deployable and fixed base ATCALS.
