Description
Request for Information (RFI) CO2 Laser Equipment and Associated Software (to ablate conformal coating) The US Army Communications Electronics Command, Tobyhanna Army Depot (TYAD) is seeking interested sources to obtain information about capabilities and market information from potential responsible sources in regards to CO2 laser equipment and associated software designed specifically to remove (ablate) conformal coating from precise locations on small circuit card assemblies (CCAs) in order to facilitate repair of the CCAs. The equipment will consist of a laser (approximate power, 30 watts), a computer-controlled, motor-driven table (24" x 24" range) to precisely re-position the circuit card under the laser. Equipment will utilize (machine movement) EXCELLON format software to transfer information regarding specific points on the CCA where the coating is to be removed from an exported Gerber files (essentially a.txt file after exporting). Equipment will also include a vision system, joystick table control, and software interface (or similar) to allow the operator to input the X-Y axis starting coordinates of a CCA (i.e. the exact location of the CCA on the table). This RFI is issued solely for market research and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responses will be treated as information only and will not be used as a proposal.
