Description
The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends serve as a sponsor of BIO International Convention on June 6-9, 2016 in San Francisco, CA. The Convention is the world's largest biotechnology conference and exhibition. Hosted by BIO, the annual event regularly attracts over 15,000 biotech leaders from 66 countries and covers the wide spectrum of life science innovations and application areas including drug discovery, bio manufacturing, genomics, biofuels, nanotechnology, cell therapy and more. The key elements of the event are education, networking, the BIO Exhibition featuring over 1,800 companies and BIO One-on-One Partnering TM which facilitates more than 29,000 strategic partnering meetings during the three-day event. NSF funds companies that develop technologies for reaching and learning. It is essential that our current grantees keep their finger on the pulse of technology by participating and for educators and leaning professional and help contribute to evolving technological advances by forming new companies and learning about the NSF Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program that can catalyze these new advances. As a sponsor, NSF can reach out to a large number of participants at a fraction of the cost of holding its own event. Under the order, the funding will cover the costs of exhibit space, furnishings, electricity, and internet usage, and signage and supplies. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for informational purposes only.
