Description
The National Science Foundation (NSF) intends to support and participate in the Silicon Innovation Forum activities from July 12-14, 2016, on a sole source basis. The 3rd Annual Silicon Innovation Forum and Exhibit showcase attracted over 300 attendees and 20 emerging growth companies on July 14, 2015. Held in conjunction with SEMICON West, the 2016 Silicon Innovation Forum and Showcase will once again bring together top strategic investors, venture capitalist, universities, industry and government agencies from the national and global semiconductor and microelectronics industry for an unprecedented day of matchmaking, networking, presentations, product showcases, and private meetings. By supporting this activity, the NSF, Division of Industrial Innovation and Partnership's supporting package has been created to provide general exposure, key speaking opportunities, display and literature opportunities, participation in organizing and selection committee, and extensive networking opportunities. Specifically, promoting the NSF SBIR/STTR program to the microelectronic/semiconductor industry and startups, providing a venue for past SBIR/STTR awardee companies to reach new partners and capital, and NSF networking and outreach to companies and leaders from startups, industry executives, and venture groups. Under this order, NSF will be able to participate in the workshop activities for the week. The funding will cover the costs of up to ten (10) VIP registrations to the SIF Receptions and trade show, NSF listing and company logo on the Forum website, NSF logo placed on all event emails, signage, participation as a presenter in the Pre-Silicon Innovation forum webinar, and much more. As a sponsor, NSF can reach out to a large number of participants at a fraction of the cost of holding its own event. The proposed contract action is for services for which the government intends to sponsor with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. This synopsis is for information purposes only.
