- 2.2.1.Demolition 2.2.1.1.Civil In building 8185, remove 11,400 square feet of glued down sheet carpeting, and approx. 2500 lf of 4 vinyl wall base in the area designated in figure 1 at the bottom. Remove 110 lf of transition strip from under doorways and in the hallways. Scrape clean and prepare properly the concrete floor to accept the new carpet. In building 2109, room N137 remove 850 square feet of 18 x 18 glued down carpet squares and approx. 160lf of 4 vinyl wall base in the area designated in figure 2 at the bottom. Remove 12lf of stair nosing on the top step at entrance to the room. Scrape clean the raised flooring tiles and prepare them to accept the new carpet. In building 460, room 125 remove 450 square feet of glued down sheet carpet and approx. 90lf of 4 vinyl wall base in the area designated in figure 3 at the bottom. Scrape clean and prepare the concrete floor to accept the new carpet. 2.2.2.Install 2.2.2.1.Civil In building 8185, install 1,267sy of 30 oz. tufted weight, 24 x 24 , hard backed, glue down, carpet tiles in the rooms where carpet was removed. Install aluminum based, rubber topped glue down transition strip where the new carpet transits to other type of flooring. This will include both ends of the hallway, under the doors at the mechanical closet, POP room, and office support area. Approx. 35lf Install approx. 2,400 lf of 4 vinyl wall base. In building 2109, room N137, install 90sy of 30 oz. tufted weight, 24 x 24 , hard backed, glue down, carpet tiles in the area where carpet was removed. The carpet tiles will match the raised flooring panels when installed to allow for access under floor. Install new aluminum stair nosing at the top step of entrance to the room. Install approx. 160lf of 4 vinyl wall base. In building 460, room 125, install 50sy of 30 oz. tufted weight, 24 x 24 , hard backed, glue down, carpet tiles in the area where carpet was removed. This carpet will be required to match the existing carpet in the adjacent room. This carpet is Shaw commercial carpet tile, style number 59424 and color 24485. Install approx. 90lf of 4 vinyl wall base. The contractor will be required to provide an attic stock of carpet for building 8185 in the amount of 53.3sy or 10 boxes, and at 2109 the amount of 26.6sy or 5 boxes. 2.2.2.2.Special Circumstances In building 8185, the customer will work with the contractor to remove small furniture items prior to the contractor replacing the carpet. However, most of the cubicle furniture and the desks too large to move will be require staying within the room. This means the contractor will be required to move around and/or lift the approximately 65 pieces of cubicle furniture and desk to replace the carpet. No permanent or complicated electrical connections are present. All personal effects will be moved off the floor by the customer. Scheduling in this building is important to keep workflow at an acceptable pace. In building 2109, room N137, the contractor will be responsible to move around and/or lift the 6 pieces of cubicle furniture and desks to replace the carpet. All personal effects will be moved off the floor by the customer. In building 460, room 125, the contractor will be required to work around the large conference table in the room. 2.2.2.3.Submittals The contractor will be responsible to submit product data and receive the approved submittal prior to ordering any material. The submittals will include carpet data, vinyl base data, and adhesive data. The carpet tile specified in 2.2.2.1 will be sufficient for all areas but the customer will chose the color for building 8185, and 2109.
