Description

The proposed IFB procurement is UNRESTRICTED under NAICS code 237990 - Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction (Dredging). The estimated magnitude of construction is between $10,000,000.00 and $25,000,000.00. The Government intends to solicit an Invitation for Bids for a Construction Contract to stockpile sandy material for future construction on Poplar Island. Poplar Island is located in the Chesapeake Bay between Jefferson and Coaches Islands, and is approximately 20 minutes (by boat) northwest of Tilghman Island. The work consists of assumed hydraulic dredging of up to 1,350,000 cubic yards of sandy material from borrow areas approximately one mile away from Poplar Island (northern and southwest borrow areas). The material will be placed on Poplar Island in Cells 1D and 4C. There may be a flushing of Cell 1D using bay water before placing any dredge material. Construction duration will be approximately 400 calendar days. The solicitation will be posted on FedBizOpps (FBO) at www.fbo.gov on or about 28 April 2016.
