- QUESTIONS & ANSWERS QUESTION 1 : What size casters are required for the transport cage? Per the specs, the cage dimensions "must not exceed 24"W x 48" x 34"H (without casters)". Our standard is 5" casters, is this acceptable? ANSWER : Yes, 5" casters are the norm. QUESTION 2 : Are solid panels a requirement for the transport cage? LGL product #90710 has ½ solid panels on 3 sides of the transport cage, however, this is not mentioned in the salient characteristics or minimum specifications. ANSWER: We have no problem with the bottom half of the cage being constructed of solid panels on three sides. As long as the panels are made out of heavy gauge aluminum. QUESTION 3 : Are there additional specifications for the fiberglass slat floor? We use grey slat flooring with a fine grit surface and 3/8" gaps in between slats and the slats are on 2" centers. Is this acceptable? ANSWER : The slat flooring is preferred as long as the transport cages include a removable excreta pan and the slat flooring is made out of fiberglass.
