- NOTICE OF DECISION TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE-SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, intends to award a single-source contract to FlightSafety International, INC. to provide initial and/or recurrent qualification fight training in the ATR 42/72 airplane. Per the requirements of the Flight Standards Service, most FAA pilot/inspectors work with both the ATR-42 and ATR-72 and the contractor is required to use both ATR-42 and ATR-72 simulators for course 28080. FlightSafety International, INC. is the only operator with both an ATR-42 and ATR-72 active simulators as registered in the FAA National Simulator Program website (http://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/nsp/data_lists/). Purpose of Announcement: In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single-source procedures.
