- **** SITE VISIT ON May 11, 2016 9:00 AM at the AMADOR RANGER DISTRICT OFFICE ***** SEE AMENMDMENT 001 This project is set-aside for Total Small Business. The NAICS code for this project is 115310, Support Activities for Forestry, and the size standard is no greater than $19 million in average annual receipts Only offers from firms that are certified to meet both Total Small Business status and the size standard will be considered. You may contact your local U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) office (federal, not state office) for more information on the Total Small Business program. Your local SBA office's contact information may be found by accessing the SBA website (www.sba.gov). Description: The intent of this contract is to reduce undesirable trees and brush in reforestation stands by the use of hand held equipment; The cutting of woody brush will be performed in 9 stands, totaling 221 acres. Vegetation to be treated consists primarily of deerbrush with some areas of whitethorn, manzanita, cherry, and other minor woody brush species. Pre-commercial thinning of conifers will be performed in 8 stands, totaling 396 acres. Treatment areas will generally consist primarily of plantation trees, but will include residual young growth and natural regeneration which may be different in size from the plantation trees. All trees, planted and natural, within the treatment area must be thinned to specifications. Understory vegetation consists primarily of whitethorn and manzanita, with some areas of deerbrush, bearclover, grasses and forbs. The contractor will be provided approximately 43 calendar days to complete the project. The areas will be treated in such a way that all technical specifications will be met. The Contractor shall provide everything--including, but not limited to, all equipment, supplies, transportation, labor, and supervision--necessary to complete the project, except for that which the contract clearly states is to be furnished by the Government. Location: The project is located on the Amador Ranger District of the Eldorado National Forest. The Amador Ranger District office is located at 26820 Silver Drive, Pioneer, CA 95666, approximately 18 miles (29km) east of Jackson, CA on State Highway 88. All work sites are within approximately 1 hour travel time from the district office. The location of the work sites, access to the area, size of stands, and other information pertinent to each treatment stand is contained on the vicinity and location maps and Supplemental Specifications Data Table, which will be included with the solicitation. The solicitation will be uploaded when ready, on or about April 7, 2016. The date of award is expected to be within 30 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and possibly changed in one or more amendments. The purpose of this notice is to meet the FAR 5.201 It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the Federal Business Opportunities website for amendments.
