- This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation(FAR) 6.302-1 -- Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. This IS NOT a Request for Proposal. The US Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground - Installation Contracting Division, 6001 Combat Drive, Aberdeen, Maryland, 21005 intends to award a sole source contract to procure the following: Wavemaker Controller Upgrade Package: Upgrade existing controller to the MTS Model 494.20 Controller Chassis. This requirement includes configuring new Controller and software to give functionality with the existing Wave Generator at the Littoral Warfare Environment (LWE) on APG. The Government intends to award a firm-fixed price sole source contract to MTS Technologies Corporation, 14000 Technology Drive, Eden Prarie, MN, 55344-2247, a large business. The LWE wave generator was designed and built by MTS and they are the only company with the capable of providing a replacement Control Unit without a significant duplication in costs. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 334519 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Time, Wednesday, April 25, 2016. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements.
