- FSR126 SPS Table Return Package Solicitation This solicitation is a Request for Quotes to Repair 3 Road Slides. The three slides have occurred on the Forest Service Road 126 Elliot Road also known as Jacks River Road. The road provides access to several residences and a cemetery. The slides are near the end of the road between the last few residences the cemetery and before the gate. There are no permanent residents on this section of the road. The Forest Service intends to use a contract with a specialized technology whose firm doesn't maintain equipment to perform site work which might be needed at the slide locations. The intent of this contract is to provide support services to the primary contractor Geostablization International, which is repairing three slides on Forest Service Road (FSR) 126 Elliot Road. Since the primary contractor does not maintain their own site work equipment the intent of this contract is to provide that equipment and operator through this contract. The primary contractor will require a • Excavator • Dump truck minimum capacity of 12 cy • Water truck minimum capacity of 150 gallons • Installing and maintaining the erosion control materials, • Removing 200 CY of material from 3 slides within a.2 mile section of road. The material is to be removed off of National Forest System Lands. • Remove specified hazard trees which are leaning or are damaged • Clearing and grubbing an approximate area with a length of 75' by 20' downslope • Provide approximately 180 tons Georgia DOT gradation #57 aggregate • Maintain the traffic control plan in the contract • Locate all of the Utilities impacted by this project. • Seeding and mulching of the disturbed area. • Option of installing 75 feet of guardrail. The project is located on FSR 126 Elliot Road at mile post 1.55 and 1.60, Elliot Road is located in Fannin County, Georgia. It is located in the Watson Gap area of the National Forest and at the end of the Fannin County Road Jacks River Road. To reach the site, from Blue Ridge Georgia take US 5 north to old GA 2 then east to Watson Gap. At the Watson Gap intersection take Fosters Branch road. At the bridge, the road becomes Jacks River Road (Elliot Road). Distances to the sites are measured from the intersection at Watson Gap to the slide.
