Description
SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT: The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 4, 323 North Shore Drive, Suite 400, Pittsburgh, PA 15212, is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources to provide Laundry and Linen services for the Veteran Affairs Pittsburgh Heath System (VAPHS). This announcement is issued for informational planning purposes only and is not a request for proposal or announcement of a solicitation. Submitting information for this announcement is voluntary and participants will not be compensated. The purpose of this market research is to identify capable sources of providing Laundry and Linen services to the VAPHS facilities at the University Drive and Delafield Road, Pittsburgh, locations. The services include furnishing all linen items, labor, supervision, management, equipment, transportation vehicles, supplies, and materials necessary to provide complete laundry/linen services. The services require provision of an adequate, constant, and clean supply of linens to the Pittsburgh VAMC. The requirement scope includes, but is not limited to, sorting, weighing, washing, ironing, steam cleaning, tumbling (drying), folding, mending, marking and delivering said linens. All work at a vendor's facilities must be performed under sanitary conditions as specified by the VA, the VAPHS, and The Joint Commission. The vendor facility would need to have a physical separation barrier keeping soiled linen from clean linen. The facility must also include a barrier wall (staph wall, infection control wall), pass-through equipment (pass-through washer machines/tunnel washer), and positive air pressure in the clean section relative to a negative air pressure in the soiled section. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 812332 and the small business size standard is $38.5 million. Capabilities Statement and Documentation: Firms/Companies are invited to provide their capabilities, experience and knowledge in the provision of Laundry and Linen services. Sources are asked to provide information to demonstrate their answers to the following items of information: 1.Company Name, Address, Website, POC, and POC Phone Number. 2.The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 812332 and the small business size standard is $38.5 million for this type of effort. Based on this information, please indicate whether your company would be a Large or Small Business, and provide the average amount of sales for the last three (3) years. 3.Provide a summary of your firm's ability to meet the services described in this announcement. 4.Provide a summary of your firm's ability to meet the infection control requirements, specifically having a physical separation barrier keeping soiled linen from clean linen; a barrier wall (staph wall, infection control wall), pass-through equipment (pass-through washer machines/tunnel washer), and positive air pressure in the clean section relative to a negative air pressure in the soiled section. 5.Provide a summary of your firm's ability to launder hospital and/or surgical scrubs, pajamas, and linens. This should include narrative regarding hospital industry volume. 6.If your firm has a GSA FSS with these services on it, please provide the GSA FSS and the appropriate SIIN. In addition to a Capability Statement which provides the above, submissions can include specifications, brochures, and manuals as attachments.
