Description
The 502 Contracting Office at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas is conducting a Sources Sought for Small Business sources/vendors that can provide Laboratory, and Shipping Accessioning Technician services as follows: Description of Services: The Medical Laboratory Technician shall: - Collect blood specimens and process a variety of body and non-body fluid specimens for analysis. Examine patient specimens for discrepancies in collection, appearance, and handling. - Perform patient testing, interpret and report patient test results in an accurate and timely manner. Review results for appropriateness using the published regulatory guidelines and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Program (CLIP) regulations. - Review patient's results for obvious errors relating to specimen handling, specimen integrity, and instrument function. Refer unusual request, results, and circumstances to the technical representative. - Collect, maintain, and interpret quality control data to insure accurate patient test results. - Prepare appropriate reagents, standards, and controls. The Shipping Accessioning Technicians shall: - Receive, sort, store and ship specimens for processing IAW International Air Transport Association (IATA) shipping standards. - Verify patient demographics, and resolve any discrepancies prior to accessioning. - Pick up specimen packages, unpack specimen boxes, verify patient samples received, accession and label samples. - Deliver specimens to different areas of the laboratory. - Receive reports from other laboratories, process the reports, and enter them into the laboratory information system. The Contractor shall provide the aforementioned personnel services, and non-personnel services in support of the Military Treatment Facilities located in San Antonio, Texas which include the following: Wilford Hall 2200 Bergquist Drive, JBSA-Lackland, Texas 78236 Reid Clinic 1515 Truemper St., Bldg. 6612, JBSA-Lackland, Texas 78236 Randolph Clinic 221 3rd Street West, JBSA-Randolph, Texas 78150 North Central Clinic 17440 Henderson Pass, San Antonio, Texas The Contracted Personnel shall work within the Government provided facility and use Government provided equipment and perform services and support compatible with the medical facility's operating capacity. This is a Sources Sought - NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. It is a market research tool (IAW FAR Part 10) being used to determine potential offerors capable of providing the service described herein prior to determining the method of acquisition and issuance of a Request for Proposal. All interested parties are advised that the Department of Air Force will not pay for any information or any other administrative costs incurred that are associated with any response received from Industry in response to this Sources Sought. Therefore, any costs associated with the Sources Sought submissions will be solely at the interested vendor's expense. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS OR QUOTES; therefore, in accordance with FAR 15.201(c) any responses to this inquiry will not constitute nor will be considered as contractor offers, and no contract will be awarded as a result of this inquiry. This information will be used by the 502 CONS/JBKCA for market research purposes, only, and the submitted information will not be returned. Submitted information will be protected in accordance with DoD 5400.11, Department of Defense Privacy Program, and DoD 5400.11-R, Department of Defense Privacy Program, and no feedback will be provided regarding submissions or the total number of submissions received. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this request for information, as the government is not liable for any costs incurred by interested parties in responding to this request. The purpose of this Sources Sought is to query the market for potential interested, capable, responsible, and qualified commercial small business offerors that may perform the stated requirement.
