Description
Biobased Information - MANDATORY PPE List (PDF) Experience and Capabilities to complete and return (Word Doc) Experience and Capabilities to complete and return Map Packet SF 18 to complete and return Solicitation C.1 SCOPE OF CONTRACT 1. The purpose of this contract is to top 743 live red pine as indicated by marked reference trees and additional cut trees. This project is being carried out to provide snags for wildlife habitat. 2. The work will require climbing and removing all limbs and tops of marked trees at a minimum height of 30 feet above ground level. Tops are to be left at the site, lying flat on the ground, and scattered. They may not be suspended from, or supported by, any tree in any way. 3. The Contract Implementation period is the time period for the completion of all bid items. Item #1, topping 743 red pine trees by climbing will start 8/1/2016 to 10/28/2016 (63 week days). This gives the contractor adequate time to accomplish this item. C.2 LOCATION AND INFORMATION (see attached maps- Section M) Red Pine Township 26 North R1W Sections 9 (C64 S3 & 10)and 21 (C62 S16) and Township 25N R1E S29 (C99 S12) Reference tree numbers: see attached maps and spreadsheets Layout: • Reference trees are approximately 25 meters apart and are marked with a pink paint band, (approximately 7 feet high), a numbered "Animal Inn" sign (approximately head high), and a numbered aluminum tag (above the "Animal Inn" sign). • Within the project area, top the reference tree and all additional trees marked with a pink slash (approximately head high). These additional trees are found within an approximate 75 foot radius of the reference tree. The pink slash on the additional trees to cut FACES the reference tree, regardless of the additional tree's cardinal direction in relation to the reference tree. This has been done so the operator can view all additional trees to be cut from the reference tree. See attachments for a list of reference tree numbers and the amount of trees to be topped at each reference tree. Top all trees at a minimum height of 30 feet above ground level. 743 total red pine trees to be topped.
