- Description
- On or about 06 May 2016, this office will issue Request for Proposals for the construction of the 4th ID CAB ATTACK BATTALION MAINTENANCE HANGAR P.N. 77305 (FY15). The solicitation will close on or about 26 July 2016. This solicitation is UNRESTRICTED AND OPEN TO BOTH LARGE AND SMALL BUSINESS PARTICIPATION. The Government intends to hold a Pre-Proposal Site Visit for all interested parties at Fort Carson CAB Project Office, Bldg 9658, 10286 Butts Road, Fort Carson, CO on MAY 18, 2016. All contractors, sub-contractors, designers and sub consultants are encouraged to attend. Prior to the site visit each party must submit, via fax or e-mail, the firm's name, address, point of contact, telephone number, and names of personnel planning to attend. Project Description: This project includes an 115,500 SF Maintenance Hangar and a total of 10,000 SF Airfield Maintenance Equipment Storage. Work includes an aircraft maintenance hangar, administration office, troop storage, shop van covered storage, Ground Support Equipment (GSE)covered storage, parts and tool storage, aviation operations, airfield aprons, hangar access aprons, aircraft washing apron, Paints, Oils and Lubricants storage, a hazardous waste storage facility, building information systems, fire protection and alarm systems, Intrusion Detection System (IDS) installation and Energy Monitoring Control Systems (EMCS) connection. Demolition of two facilities with total area of 84,979 SF. Supporting facilities include site development, site improvements, utilities and connections, lighting, paving, parking, walks, curbs and gutters, storm drainage, information systems, landscaping and signage. Furniture and equipment layout is in development for all spaces. Furniture and equipment procurement will be addressed in the bidding schedule during the development of the project design. The facility is to be designed to a minimum 50-year life. Energy efficiencies of the facility will be met through improved building envelope and integrated building systems performance. This hangar facility is to be designed to be NetZero Ready. The POL Storage Building is a 200 square feet structure for the storage of POL materials. The Hazardous Waste Storage is a 200 square feet structure for the storage of hazardous waste. The estimated design and construction cost of this project is between $30M-$50M.
